"I am always doing what I cannot do yet in order to learn how to do it."

Hi there! My name is Bonnie. I am passionate about art and guiding others, so I made it my career. I'm beginning my ninth year in education, after taking a year out to run youth programming with Girl Scouts specifically in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) fields. I can now say that I've taught in private, public, charter, brick-and-mortar, virtual, traditional, and non-traditional education.

Art has been my passion from a very young age, and I hope to evoke some of that same excitement and curiosity in my students. In my personal art upbringing, I valued representational accuracy, which was nurtured into me by art education standards of the time. Upon my undergraduate studies, I developed a greater interest in contemporary and installation art. Because of this, I often encourage my students to explore and experiment with their materials and processes. I find this to be the most exciting part of the learning process - watching students' enthusiasm with a new discovery, or pride in their accomplishments.
